We had spend a few relaxing days at The Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort at the foothills of the Arenal Volcano and were now on the way to the coast to discover another of Costa Rica’s famous jungle resorts, the Paradisus Playa Conchal. Luxury lodging in the jungles of the world, and especially Costa Rica, is in. This resort is located less than an hour drive from Liberia International Airport. Note that there are several airlines that provide nonstop service from the US to Costa Rica, but there is only one from Europe, which flies nonstop to San Jose. Iberia Airlines and their flatbed Business Class Plus (CLICK HERE for a DETAILED IBERIA REVIEW) service proved to be excellent. Here relatively close to the blue, warm, inviting Pacific Ocean we discovered a luxurious jungle and beach resort, whose inherent asset is probably its one of a kind location and beautiful lagoon-style pool presentation.
The well maintained large vacation complex offers over four hundred suites and villas of which approximately one hundred allow butler service. Our accommodations were located in one of the higher buildings with garden views and turned out to be very pleasant held in sand beige colors and furnished with unforgiving, classy, chic dark wood. The floors were of squeaky clean, cool stone tiles that continued out unto the balcony and granted every one of the look-a-like suites plenty of privacy. Other accommodations allow guests views over the freeform pool area or the jungle and some have ocean views.

Paradisus Playa Conchal - Accommodation
Described as a “... wonderland between the lush forests and pristine beaches of Costa Rica’s magnificent North Pacific Rivera...” this tropical, sprawling paradise has a lot to give. The Paradisus Playa Conchal resort offers “an abundance of location-inspired tropical activities including an array of sports, life-enriching classes, and professional entertainment nightly”. We visited the main restaurant for dinner and found the all-inclusive resort cuisine ok. The service we experienced throughout our stay was inconsistent. Experiencing Costa Rica’s jungles in style one still seems to have little to choose from. The Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort (CLICK HERE for a DETAILED TABACON REVIEW) is a given and possibly the Playa Conchal Resort, if booked with their so called 'Royal Service', has potential to head that list.

Yanqi Lake Hotel
Just a half hour from Beijing is a place like no other. A place where the sky is wide and the business of the throbbing city becomes distant and unreal. Yanqi Lake, located on the foothills of the stunning Yanshan Mountains and surrounded by a diversity of picturesque trees, is the place where...

Burj Al Arab
Our arrival at Burj Al Arab was of true Seven Star style. Four lovely hostesses and a host welcomed us in the tradition of Jumeirah - with warm smiles, cold towels, Arabian coffee, sweet dates and chilled rosewater. Much has been written about the decorative style of Burj Al Arab...
