The Ultimate Award:
Seven Stars Award®
Germany, in the heart of Europe, is a must on every history travelers’ list, but ‘Frankfurt am Main’, is normally recognized as major trade and bank hub, rarely receives the recognition as the city of great historic significance that it is. Frankfurt was recognized as a Stone Age development from the many artifacts discovered over the years, then developed during Roman times into a garrison town. It was first mentioned officially in 794, and later became a place of importance during the Holy Roman Empire. By the 12th century the ‘Frankfurt Fair’ had already attracted business from the Mediterranean to the Baltic Sea in a tradition that spanned over 500 years. The gothic Saint Bartholomeus Cathedral for example is one of a kind perseverant structure, having been destroyed and rebuilt twice since its 14th century construction. Frankfurt’s ‘Old Town’ with Paulskirche, Römer, and the Cathedral, as well as being the seat of the city's administrative branch seems to be the hot spot for the city's tourism industry. It was in Frankfurt in 1848 that Germany’s first-ever parliamentary delegation met at the Paulskirche (Paul’s church). Although the Prussians disbanded this parliament, Frankfurt was (obviously much later) hailed by US President John F Kennedy as the ‘cradle of democracy in Germany’.

We took residence at the Kempinski Hotel Gravenbruch, located within a short driving distance of Frankfurt’s International Airport and train stations and only seven miles to Frankfurt’s ‘Old Town’. The hotel had been recommended by a business affiliate and we are pleased to report that it was an excellent choice. Placed in a private park, the Kempinski Hotel Gravenbruch makes an elegant retreat for business and leisure traveler alike, as all are at the end of the day are looking to relax and rest without the noise of the city. Besides, the elegant pool and spa facilities and sumptuous breakfast buffet at the EssTisch the next morning is alone worth the stay. The accommodations we had booked turned out to be a tastefully furnished junior suite with views over a park that was expertly kept. Our junior suite was well equipped with a nice welcome basket, a Nespresso machine, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and all kinds of gadgets. I was able to keep up with my office work and able to attend a three-country conference call without downtime while my wife took advantage of the indoor swimming pool that featured a lovely star-studded sky ceiling. Of particular interest at the hotel is an outdoor pool with a unique view over the lake as well and both pools were kept at a comfortable 82.4 degrees F. The Luxury Spa at the Kempinski Hotel Gravenbruch offers a variety of treatments and services.

When in New York do as the …. We advise not to miss a visit atop Frankfurt's Main Tower and experience the amazing 360-degree view over the ‘Main-hattan’ skyline. Using one of the high-speed elevators, which are some of the fastest in Europe, you will reach the platform in no time.--We assure you that there's plenty to see and do in this 2,000-year-old German city besides working, shopping, dining and bar hopping. You might want to catch a screening at the German Film Museum, or stroll of the museums and/or exhibits of one of Frankfurt’s many art galleries or get back to the hotel for a unique dinner at the Torschenke restaurant. Here we especially enjoyed the breaded pork chops on a bed of lentils with a freshly drawn beer in a chilled stone. Overall we were very pleased with our accommodations, the service, and the cuisine. It was evident that the management, is inspiring personal service, tailor made to suit the client’s individual needs.

Yanqi Lake Hotel
Just a half hour from Beijing is a place like no other. A place where the sky is wide and the business of the throbbing city becomes distant and unreal. Yanqi Lake, located on the foothills of the stunning Yanshan Mountains and surrounded by a diversity of picturesque trees, is the place where...

Burj Al Arab
Our arrival at Burj Al Arab was of true Seven Star style. Four lovely hostesses and a host welcomed us in the tradition of Jumeirah - with warm smiles, cold towels, Arabian coffee, sweet dates and chilled rosewater. Much has been written about the decorative style of Burj Al Arab...
