Think of it like the perfect recipe that you run
across from time to time, which makes you shine around your friends every time
you follow its directions. |
|
- You take a healthy portion of
"location", just the right distance from the cold Pacific Ocean.
- Add to it several shots of "hot
sunny days" that have been tempered by "cool breezy nights".
- Make sure to use only a very
"unique kind of soil" that has been treated by "perfect exposure to the
elements".
- The results tend to be "deeply
colored purple" and have flavors that remind you of "dark red fruits like
cherries and currents" while leaving a sensation on your tongue of a "very fine
astringency" when you drink it.

|
This is precisely how the J. Lohr Vineyards
successfully produces their very fine "Carol's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon",
which has won the hearts of many who are in pursuit of this heavenly treat.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the grape that is responsible for some of the finest
medium to full bodied intense reds in the world. Perfection is achieved only
when the proper elements come together as has been proven for centuries in the
Medoc region of Bordeaux, France where this classic varietals continues to
astonish with it richness and complexity.
For the last 30+ years, Napa
Valley California has become synonymous with Cabernet Sauvignon where it has
found a second home in this appellation. In particular, Carol's Vineyard
produces wines of distinctive character and outstanding quality as to be "in a
class by themselves" according to The Quarterly Wine Review (Autumn 2005).
Recent award recognition include placement in two of the most well known
competitions: |

J. Lohr Winery Carol's
Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2001, Hilton Head Wine Competition, 2005,
Silver Medal
J. Lohr Winery Carol's Vineyard Cabernet

Winemaker's notes:
Dense and
dark, youthful, purple-red in color, this initial 2001 vintage of J. Lohr
Carol's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has powerful aromas of black currants,
cherries and licorice with a complex bouquet of vanilla, tar, graphite and
chary oak. Carol's Vineyard delivers a dense, yet incredibly supple structure
reminiscent of Bordeaux's finest Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines.
It
would be the perfect pairing for Prime Ribs of Beef, Steak Au Poivre, Filet
Mignon and any other meat dish supported by a deep rich sauce such as a
Bordelaise and will handle acidic foods like tomato sauce and bitter greens.
